Mark Cuban wrote recently about how he feels about blogs vs. newspapers/journalism. I tend to agree with some of his thinking. Newspapers are for journalists to publish stories that are factual and (sometimes) impartial. I don’t go to a newspaper’s website to read their blog. I go for news reporting. (I do like his idea of “Real-Time Reporting,” though, may be a smart way for papers to successfully get into social media). Anybody can have a blog. I have one, for Pete’s sake! And I’m just some schmoe who got bored and felt like writing. (I just discovered this in my Google Reader, I’m sure the debate has only just begun.)
