The Mrs. said the docs line to me one day this past week. I think she was hinting that my coffee intact might be excessive. Can there be such a thing? Really?

A couple years ago, I drew a series of “Inner Child” cartoons (find them here – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7). I thought that series was pretty much complete until the Mrs. said the line that the Dr. says above. Instead of taking that feedback and conducting some deep self analysis and introspection, I immediately thought, “New Cartoon!” That other stuff can come later.

This is another rerun, first posted in April 2009. A couple years ago, I was listening to The Irish and Celtic Music podcast and one song was by Sligo Rags called, “The Whiskey Never Lies.” Extremely awesome song. There is a kernel of truth to the song but I can think of a few times that whiskey lied to me. Beer hasn’t necessary lied but has told me a few fibs. Wine has been pretty noncommittal. So what is always truthful? What can I trust? Coffee. Coffee never lies…

My inner voice is an asshat. And it will not shut up.

There was a commercial a couple years ago. In it, as a lady is preparing a dinner party, her inner voice keeps hinting that she is in over her head, she should have a back-up plan (a caterer), etc.

That’s my inner voice. I go to meetings and it tells me they are much smarter and better qualified than I. In fact, it says, they mock you behind your back. It’s really not helpful.

Just another in my on-going “Bob” series. These tend be my fallback for when I don’t have anything original to share. They still make me laugh, though. I found a website solely for sayings that can go on church marquees. I’m good for a few months worth of material, now.
